Competition Promotes Local Music and Good Governance Messaging

The Enugu Good Governance Jingles Competition was announced in July. It aimed to discover and promote home-grown musical talents while encouraging creative expressions of Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah’s achievements, vision and development programmes.

The organisers also intended the competition to mobilise support for Mbah’s re-election bid in the February 6, 2027 governorship election.

Judges assessed the entries using several criteria. These included originality, creativity, lyrical content, musical quality, memorability and overall campaign appeal.

The assessment process sought to identify jingles that combined creative merit with the competition’s campaign objectives. The organisers commended all participants for their creativity and enthusiasm.

The selected jingles may be used for publicity, campaign and mobilisation activities by the organisers and other authorised pro-Peter Mbah and pro-APC support groups. Such use must comply with the published competition rules.
