Governor Peter Mbah has unveiled a compendium documenting more than 10,000 achievements recorded by his administration across Enugu State.
The document highlights major interventions in infrastructure, education, healthcare, urban development, revenue generation and institutional reforms.
The compendium, titled “A Thousand and One Reasons Why Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah Should be Re-elected as Governor of Enugu State,” was unveiled at the International Conference Centre in Enugu on Wednesday.
The publication captures several projects completed or initiated by the administration since Mbah assumed office in May 2023.
Mbah Administration Records Major Infrastructure Projects

The Peter Mbah achievements listed in the compendium include more than 1,521 kilometres of constructed and reconstructed roads.
The administration also recorded more than 7,000 classrooms and 260 Type-2 Primary Healthcare Centres across the state.
Other major projects include Enugu Air, the New Enugu Smart City and the rehabilitation of previously abandoned government assets.
Represented at the event by his deputy, Barrister Ifeanyi Ossai, Mbah said the document reflects his administration’s commitment to accountability.
He linked the compendium to the Citizens Charter, also known as Executive Order 001.
Mbah signed the executive order when he took office on May 29, 2023. The order focused on transparency, accountability and clear tracking of government activities.
Enugu has also seen renewed attention to safety and infrastructure challenges. Recently, an Enugu lawmaker called for safer measures after a Coal Camp drowning, highlighting concerns around abandoned mining sites.
Mbah explained that the publication does not capture every project completed by the administration.
According to him, the preparation process created a cut-off period several months before the unveiling.
He said the document therefore does not fully represent the administration’s achievements as of September 9, 2026.
Governor Says Enugu Is Moving Towards Greatness

Mbah thanked residents and supporters who backed his administration during the 2023 election.
He also acknowledged people who made sacrifices while supporting his political journey.
The governor admitted that some of his administration’s decisions had affected people negatively. However, he maintained that the government’s long-term plans would benefit Enugu.
Mbah said his administration wants to place the state on what he described as an irreversible path of development.
He also restated his ambition to build a $30 billion economy in Enugu.
The governor wants Enugu to become a leading destination for investment, business, tourism and living.
His economic vision comes as political discussions intensify ahead of the 2027 elections. Adebayo has also unveiled a major 2027 pledge to provide solar power for every Nigerian household, adding another economic development proposal to the national conversation.
Political activities have also continued across Enugu. Stakeholders in Ohuani, Idodo and Oruku recently backed the APC ahead of the Enugu elections.
Enugu Expands Urban Development and Digital Reforms

The Secretary to the Enugu State Government, Professor Chidiebere Onyia, highlighted several areas covered by the administration’s development agenda.
He said the government had pursued an extensive urban development programme across the state.
The New Enugu Smart City remains one of the administration’s major urban development projects. Environmental sustainability and urban renewal also form part of the government’s broader agenda.
Onyia said the state had also transformed its fiscal system through several reforms.
These include revenue automation, reforms at the Enugu State Internal Revenue Service and improved financial management.
The government also introduced the Treasury Single Account and enterprise resource planning.
The reforms also extend to broader institutional restructuring across government agencies.
The administration’s approach to regulation has also attracted public attention. ENSSAA recently warned Enugu residents over the state’s poster ban and threatened a ₦50 million fine.
Government Highlights Youth and Women Programmes
The Enugu State Government also listed youth empowerment among its major areas of intervention.
The administration has invested in skills acquisition, technology and women development.
Social protection, tourism, environmental sustainability and community development also feature in the government’s programmes.
Onyia said the government measures its success by the impact of its policies on residents.
He explained that every project ultimately serves a community and every government policy affects citizens.
He also stressed the importance of institutional reforms.
According to him, sustainable development requires more than visible projects. Strong institutions and systems must also support those projects.
The state government’s development plans also come amid wider debates about how governments can improve living conditions. Across Nigeria, political actors continue to promote different approaches to infrastructure, jobs and economic development.
APC Leaders Praise Mbah’s Development Record
The Deputy National Chairman (South) of the All Progressives Congress, Dr. Ben Nwoye, praised the scale of development projects under Mbah.
He commended the administration for spreading its interventions across different parts of Enugu State.
The Speaker of the Enugu State House of Assembly, Hon. Uchenna Ugwu, also praised the governor’s performance.
Ugwu pledged continued support from the legislative arm of government.
The Chairman of the Enugu State Council of Traditional Rulers, Igwe Samuel Asadu, also backed the administration.
Asadu said Enugu had experienced significant development under Mbah.
He argued that residents should support a government that delivers results.
The traditional ruler also backed Mbah’s ambition to move the Enugu economy towards the $30 billion target.
The political environment remains active beyond Enugu. Recent developments have included tension after suspected thugs reportedly prevented Peter Obi’s convoy from passing in Benue and Peter Obi’s visit to Yelwata, which the NDC said faced alleged obstruction.
Stakeholders Back Continuity

Chief of Staff to the Governor, Victor Udeh, described the compendium as an evidence-based publication.
He said the document demonstrates the administration’s commitment to accountability.
The unveiling attracted political leaders, traditional rulers, religious leaders and public servants.
Captains of industry, professionals and other stakeholders also attended the event.
Several attendees commended the administration for the scope of its projects across the state.
The event comes as political and governance issues continue to dominate national discussions. FIFA and CAF have also delayed a decision on the NFF crisis and announced plans to visit Nigeria, showing how several major issues remain on the national agenda.
Other recent developments have focused on security and public safety. Oyo State Police recently rescued 17 children and arrested seven suspects over an alleged child-stealing network.
Meanwhile, NNPC responded after an oil tanker was caught with 2,145kg of cannabis, adding another major development to the country’s ongoing security and economic discussions.
Peter Obi has also continued engagements with communities affected by violence. He recently arrived in Jos before heading to Mangu to visit attack victims.
The government now faces the task of sustaining its projects while pursuing its wider economic ambitions.
For Enugu residents, the scale of the projects could become an important part of political discussions ahead of the next election cycle.
