The APC chairmanship campaign in Nkanu East received a major boost in Nara ahead of the September 26 election.
Residents of Ward 1 and Ward 2 turned out to receive Hon. Mike Ogbuekwe, popularly known as Mmirioma Na Nkanu.
Heavy rainfall could not stop the campaign activities. Community leaders, youths, women and party members joined the two ward engagements.
Several speakers linked their support for Ogbuekwe to Governor Peter Mbah’s development record. They argued that the governor’s projects had changed expectations across Enugu State.
The campaign therefore focused on continuity and local development. Supporters urged residents to back Ogbuekwe and other APC candidates at the polls.
The political gathering also brought together several party leaders and community stakeholders. They used the occasion to discuss development, representation and the September 26 election.

Ward 1 Leaders Declare Support
The Ward 1 engagement opened with prayers and traditional kolanut presentation.
Several political and community figures attended the gathering. They included APC Deputy Chairmanship candidate Paul Okwor and campaign director Prince Chukwuemeka Nwatu.
Nkanu East APC leaders also joined the campaign team. Special Adviser on Agriculture Williams Chukwu and other stakeholders were present.
Ward Chairman Dr Kenechukwu Nnamani welcomed the delegation. He also declared the ward’s support for Ogbuekwe and the APC.
Other speakers praised the Mbah administration’s development efforts. They said those projects had influenced their political decisions.
Williams Chukwu also announced ₦100,000 for the campaign. Barr. Chief Joshua Mbah added a ram as another gesture of support.

He described the meeting as a discussion among members of one political family. Igwe then urged residents to support the APC candidates.
He asked voters to back Ogbuekwe in the chairmanship election. He also called for support for APC candidates in future elections.
Igwe later presented the APC flag to Ward 1 councillorship candidate David Nwoye.
Nwoye thanked the party and Nara residents for their support. He also urged voters to convert their support into votes.
Campaign Director Prince Chukwuemeka Nwatu followed with an appeal to voters.
He called for support for Ogbuekwe and other APC candidates. His list included Governor Peter Mbah, Senator Kelvin Chukwu and Rt. Hon. Nnolim Nnaji.
He also mentioned Hon. Okey Mbah among the candidates he wants residents to support.
The campaign message centred on continuity and development. Supporters argued that Ogbuekwe could carry the governor’s development agenda into Nkanu East.
Ogbuekwe Promises To Replicate Mbah’s Development Model
Ogbuekwe thanked Nara residents for attending despite the difficult weather.
He also appreciated the community leaders and members of his campaign team. His running mate, Paul Okwor, joined him during the engagement.
Ogbuekwe said Governor Mbah had raised the standard for governance in Enugu. He argued that the administration’s projects had created a strong case for continuity.
The APC candidate then presented his central campaign promise.
He said he would replicate Mbah’s development approach across Nkanu East if elected chairman.
Ogbuekwe also appealed for support for APC candidates across different levels of government. He specifically mentioned candidates seeking seats in the state and federal legislature.

Senior government and party figures joined the gathering. They included Chinedu Mbah, the Governor’s Senior Special Assistant on Market Liaison.
Ward Chairman Chinonso Chukwu welcomed the campaign team. He also declared the ward’s support for the APC candidates.

Former Deputy Governor Bishop Ralph Nwoye also addressed the gathering.
He praised residents for turning out despite the heavy rainfall. Nwoye then urged them to support Ogbuekwe on September 26.
He also asked voters to support the APC councillorship candidate. According to him, declarations of support should translate into votes.
Nwoye praised Governor Mbah’s development record as well. He encouraged residents to maintain their support for the APC.
The APC later presented its flag to Ward 2 councillorship candidate Nwokafor Collins.
Mrs Blessing Edeh added a cultural touch to the gathering. She entertained the audience with praise songs for the visiting leaders.

The candidate also asked residents to support Okey Mbah for the State House of Assembly. He mentioned Nnolim Nnaji for the House of Representatives.

Ogbuekwe additionally referenced Nnolim Nnaji’s pledge. The lawmaker had promised to facilitate one transformer for every ward in Nkanu East.
