The Nigerian Guild of Editors (NGE) has commended the infrastructure projects of Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah after touring several major projects across the state.
The editors said the projects showed evidence of significant investment in infrastructure, security, healthcare, transportation, education and tourism. The tour took place on the sidelines of the 2026 All Nigeria Editors Conference (ANEC) held in Enugu.
The NGE delegation later held an interactive session with Governor Mbah at the Government House. The conference brought together editors, senior media executives and media veterans from across Nigeria.

NGE President Praises Peter Mbah Projects
President of the Nigerian Guild of Editors, Eze Anaba, said the tour gave members of the Guild an opportunity to assess some of the projects being implemented by the state government.
Anaba said the infrastructure seen during the tour could support economic expansion in Enugu. He also pointed to the Smart Schools, roads, transport terminals, healthcare facilities and other projects visited by the delegation.
According to him, the projects demonstrated what a sub-national government could achieve through deliberate investment and planning. He also said the developments offered an indication of the infrastructure available to support economic activities in the state.
The Guild visited the completed Enugu International Hospital and sections of the state’s road network. The delegation also toured Hotel Presidential, a Smart Secondary School, the Ngwo Pines tourism complex and the ongoing Integrated Livestock Hub.
Anaba also highlighted the Command and Control Centre as part of the projects visited. He said the facility had contributed to the state’s efforts to tackle insecurity.
The NGE president recalled that members of the Guild had visited Enugu previously and observed several projects at different stages of development. He said the latest tour allowed them to see some of those projects after further work had been completed.
The Guild’s comments came shortly after its 2026 conference in Enugu, which focused on the media’s role in strengthening democracy ahead of the 2027 elections.

Editors Highlight Enugu Road Infrastructure
Among the projects highlighted during the tour was the 40km Owo-Ubahu-Amankanu-Umualor-Neke-Ikem dual carriageway.

Former Ogun State Governor and media veteran Chief Segun Osoba also praised the Mbah administration during the gala marking the end of the conference.

He referred to the deployment of security assets following the abduction of two people in Affa, Udi Local Government Area. According to Osoba, the swift response resulted in the capture of the kidnappers and the safe return of the hostages.
