An Enugu building collapse at an uncompleted hotel construction site has left four people rescued and one person feared dead.
The four-storey structure collapsed early Sunday morning in Independence Layout, Enugu. Emergency responders quickly arrived at the scene and began rescue operations.

Anya said he personally led an inspection team to the property. The team discovered what he described as major integrity issues.
He then issued a stop-work order against the construction. The agency subsequently sealed the site.
The official said the government had kept the property sealed for about six months. He added that the developer’s representative had recently started discussions with the agency.
The discussions reportedly focused on addressing the identified problems at the site.
Anya said the representative had been working with the agency for about 30 to 40 days before the collapse.
He also confirmed that police took the representative into custody for investigation.
According to Anya, the police involvement would help investigators understand what happened at the construction site.
