His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Lawrence Ugwuanyi, has formally assumed his diplomatic duties as Nigeria’s Ambassador to the Hellenic Republic.
Ugwuanyi presented his Letters of Credence to the President of Greece, Constantine An. Tassoulas, on Wednesday, September 16, 2026.
The ceremony took place at the Presidential Mansion in Athens, Greece.
The presentation marked the formal beginning of Ugwuanyi’s tenure as Nigeria’s ambassador to the European country.

During the ceremony, Ugwuanyi conveyed greetings from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Nigerian government and citizens.

Several senior Greek officials attended the presentation of credentials.
They included President Constantine An. Tassoulas and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Tasos Chatzivasileiou.
Ambassador Aliki Chatzi, Secretary General of the Presidency of the Hellenic Republic, was also present.
Others included Ambassador Dimitrios Zevelakis, Chief of Protocol at the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Vice Admiral Efthymios Mikros, Director of the Military Office of the Presidency, also attended.
Ambassador Eleni Goulousi, Director of the Diplomatic Office of the Presidency, was another official at the ceremony.
Their presence reflected the formal diplomatic nature of the ambassadorial presentation.
The event also provided an opportunity for Ugwuanyi to outline his priorities for Nigeria-Greece relations.
